Why do we choose the person we do?

Jesuit Priest Father John Powell in his book,"Why am I afraid to tell you who I really am?" said it best. The answer he gives is "if I tell you who I really am (you know that part of me that no one has ever seen and I don't like about me) and you reject me, I have nothing left and I am no more."

I had a delicious week!

Today, at Pro Group, I said I had a delicious week and several people laughed. Why? Because, we can have a good, bad, lousy, messed up, horrible, and on and on week. We just can't have a delicious one. Delicious implies a week is something we can taste. I say you can. If you can't we're in trouble for we have lost our imagination. Think about your all-time favorite food.

2017 – 2018

On the one hand we are looking forward to our best year ever. While on the other hand, we desire a less stressful year. We can’t have both. We know that our best year ever, calls for us to do things differently. If we continue to do the same things we have done in 2017, chances are pretty good we will get the same results we got in 2017.

We must look through our fear of what if it won’t work and focus on how we can bring into reality of what will. And move forward on that path and stay on that path until we get to the finish line.

We know people we care about and those that care about us, will advise us to give up and not go for it. It’s not in the cards for us, so they say. We know we’ll encounter many other distractions. Knowing all this, is it any wonder we hesitate in moving forward?

dream a little

If we had that dream we would consider ourselves successful. But would that dream, once it became a reality, be as satisfying as we imagine it to be? Maybe, maybe not? There is a way to test out our dream and know for sure, it’s THE DREAM! Like most things in life getting to where we want to go is simple, once we know how.

Staunton, Va.’s Greatest Treasure

Harold Reid is the storyteller of the group. A few years back my wife was in downtown Staunton and wanted to stop at the consignment shop. She was having a hard time finding a place to park so she pulled into this reserved parking lot next to shop, parked and ran in for a few minutes.

It's cold and flu season

I noticed that I was coming down with a cold last Sunday. 😓 I started taking a product called GoldenThread Supreme. Its ingredients have anti-fungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties. By Tuesday, it didn’t seem to be doing the job so I added Morinda Supreme, which has ingredients with similar properties to Golden Thread. By Thursday, I could feel a sore throat coming on and added Melia Supreme which has antimicrobial properties. By Friday morning, the sore throat was gone and the cold is going away. 😁

Good question to ask ourselves? The answer is sometimes difficult to put into words. For many people the quick and easy answer is plenty of money! But is it the right answer? Many of us think if I had the money all things are possible to bring into being. What would all that money bring us?
