Watch it grow big!
A friend of mine’s mom is in rehab. My friend told me her mom liked to play games all kind of board games and especially bridge. So, I decided to stop in and play games with her. Several members of myPro group thought to do so was a special thing to do.
I never stopped to think about it. We are all here to help one another and to be kind. I had such a great time playing the games with her. I must admit seeing the joy on her mom’s face nourished me and I got as much from the time as her mom did and maybe even more!
Since we are living longer, all of us, will come up against someone close to us needing our assistance. Most of us don’t even think about or prepare for how much our lives change when we have someone close to us needing so much more of our time and attention. It throws our already chocked full lives completely off balance and we get a little forgetful. We lose much needed sleep. We miss seeing people who we‘ve come to depend on for emotional support.
So just doing a little something helps both the patient and the caregiver more than we know!
As my four year-old great grandson Maddox would say, “when each of us gives a little, it gets big.”
We can’t change things politically. We can’t stop gun violence.
However, we can be kind and do a little bit here and there to help those we can help. We can give a little and watch it get big!
